Encourage your child to learn the Spanish language in a total immerse and fun environment; mastering vocabulary every day by repetition, active motivation and hands on experience in a natural way. The kids will acquire vocabulary and practice the Spanish language. This camp is perfect for youngsters without any knowledge of Spanish, as well as for the advanced. The children will work in groups matching their age and level of Spanish. Each week camp is theme-based and filled with engaging activities ranging from arts and crafts to games, stories, songs, cooking, nature, music, puppet shows, local field trips, and more!

Week 1: Multicultural Cooking

During this exciting week, campers will be fully immersed in Spanish while exploring delicious Latin American culinary traditions. Through hands-on cooking experiences, children will discover authentic recipes and prepare healthy meals inspired by Latin gastronomy.

Each day, our little chefs will practice Spanish naturally and joyfully as they prepare yummy recipes, including our popular homemade Colombian arepas, traditional Peruvian alfajores, and even our special “chef-style” hot dogs made and served by the children themselves.

This is a fully hands-on camp where children engage all five senses—seeing, touching, tasting, smelling, and listening—creating a rich and meaningful language-learning experience through culture and cooking.

Week 2: Latin Rhythms & Movement

Campers will be exposed to Spanish language acquisition by experiencing the joy of Latin rhythms and their diversity. Children will have fun practicing Spanish while wearing colorful costumes and repeating cool and interesting choreography related to the richness and flavor of Latin music such as cumbia, tango, flamenco, salsa, cha-cha-chá, and more.

Youngest children must be potty trained. Children must bring their own snack, lunch, and water.

Week 3: LEGO Camp Builders

Children will build their Spanish language skills while building with LEGOs in this engaging, hands-on camp. This is the perfect camp for youngsters who love the thoughtful and focused work of building.

Campers will construct imaginative worlds, from houses and cities to train stations, all while developing purpose-driven vocabulary in Spanish. As they create, children will develop cool dialogues and fun stories to dramatize their creations.

Beyond building, children will participate in fun thematic activities such as gardening, cooking, culture, and movement to further immerse themselves in the language.

The week will culminate with an exciting field trip to the local Santa Monica Fire Station.

Week 4: Storytelling & Puppets

Children will continue expanding their Spanish vocabulary while expressing their imagination through fun activities such as puppets and storytelling.

Campers will create their own puppets and interact with other friends by creating cool dialogues and stories to dramatize with their puppets. Children will explore basic principles of puppetry including marionettes, ventriloquism, and shadow puppets.

They will enjoy fun stories while discovering amusing characters, adventurous places, and creating their own endings to each story.

Week 5: World Cup Soccer

This exciting week celebrates the energy and spirit of soccer. Children will explore the world of fútbol while learning Spanish through sports and movement.

Campers will learn soccer vocabulary, discover different countries and flags, and experience the excitement of teamwork and friendly games.

At the end of the week, families are invited to a live tournament where parents can enjoy watching their children play and demonstrate what they learned in Spanish.

Week 6: Art & Culture

Children will learn and practice Spanish while exploring different kinds of artistic expression from around the world.

Campers will have fun creating their own art projects, learning about mixing colors and textures, exploring art history, and discovering the beauty of classic art and its cultural background.

Week 7: Gardening &Feria de las Flores

Children will explore the world of plants and flowers while practicing Spanish vocabulary related to nature.

Campers will learn about different kinds of flowers, especially orchids, while exploring the beautiful Colombian tradition of La Feria de las Flores in Medellín.

Children will participate in colorful activities inspired by flowers, costumes, music, animals, birds, and the famous flower parades known as Silleteros.

Week 8: Creative Explorers

During the final week, children will revisit many of the activities explored during the summer camps, including art, storytelling, movement, building, nature exploration, and creative projects.

This week encourages imagination, creativity, teamwork, and communication while continuing to practice Spanish in a fun and engaging way.
